Glenwood CoC hosting Christmas Tree Contest

The Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce would like to invite everyone to help them celebrate Christmas by participating in their annual Christmas on the Caddo Tree Decorating Contest.

All area businesses, individuals, churches, schools, and other groups are encouraged to participate in the annual event designed to help make Glenwood festive during the holidays.

There is a $25 registration fee which includes a five to six foot Christmas tree ready to be decorated and displayed. All you need to bring is a tree stand and decorations. There is a limit of 30 contestants this year so register quickly.

To register please contact Marla Stewart at the Bainum Library in Glenwood Thursday, November 19, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. You can also call her at (870) 223-3963. Once you have registered you will be assigned a location along Broadway in Glenwood. Trees will be available for pick up Friday, December 4, from 3:30 – 5 p.m. and must be decorated and ready for the judges by Saturday, December 12 at 2 p.m.

All trees must be secured to light posts. All decorations must be attached to the tree. Nothing can be sitting under or next to the tree. Participants are encouraged to be creative, but please keep tree decorations family friendly.

Prize money will be awarded to the Top Three trees. Prizes include $100 for First Place, $75 for Second Place and $50 for Third Place.

For more information please contact Marla Bainum at (870) 223-3963.
