Norman under boil order, many out of water

Norman Mayor Tammy Whisenhunt has reported that the City of Norman is currently out of water.

Mayor Whisenhunt reported on Facebook this morning that due to the outage there will be low pressure to no pressure today. The Norman water system was placed under a boil order earlier today and will remain under a boil order until further notice.

She reiterated that Norman city employees are searching for leaks in their system and asked for people to report leaks if they find one.

Mayor Whisenhunt added that the city of Norman Waterworks purchases their water from Glenwood who are currently dealing with several leaks in their system. As a result, Glenwood has stopped the flow of water to the Norman system to conserve what they have.

The Mayor can be reached at (870)356-9388. You can also call Donna (870) 356-9592 or Kenn (870) 490-0335 to report a leak.
