2020 Candi Mayberry Memorial Scholarship awarded

Haley Black – Mount Ida High School

Mount Ida Senior Haley Black has been announced as the recipient of the 2020 Candi Mayberry Memorial Scholarship.
The Candi Mayberry Memorial Scholarship is a one year scholarship valued at $1,250 per semester for a total of $2,500. Haley was chosen based on her academic accomplishments, leadership ability, community service, job experience and extracurricular activities.
The Candi Mayberry Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Ms. Candi Mayberry, a wonderful young woman who believed in the business enterprise and contributing to her community. Ms. Mayberry believed that education is a very important part of life. She also believed in small businesses and being a part of a community helps to develop a person’s character. It is for these reasons the scholarship was founded.
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating Mount Ida High School Senior each year. It is funded from contributions from the members of Mount Ida and surrounding communities. Donations may be made any time at Diamond Bank. Thank you to all of the donors that have given this past year. The scholarship committee appreciates your continued patronage.
