Sims VFD to hold annual meeting by conference call

The standing Sims Volunteer Board of Directors announced last week that they will conduct their 2020 annual meeting Saturday, April 11, at 4 p.m. as a remote access meeting.

This is the third date scheduled by this board for their 2020 annual meeting. The most recent meeting scheduled for March 16 was cancelled in accordance to state and federal mandated social distancing guidelines.

Nathan Mendenhall, legal council for the Board of Directors, offered his regrets for the cancellation of the prior meeting set for March 16. The April 11 meeting will be held by remote means in an attempt to both conduct the business of the annual meeting while abiding by state directives.

Those who wish to dial in to attend the annual meeting can call (978) 990-5000. Once connected you will be asked to type in the access code 849164.

The primary business during the annual meeting will be to fill three seats on the Board of Directors.

Sims VFD also announces its 2020 regular meetings of membership and Board of Directors shall occur on a quarterly basis. Public notice of dates/times/locations will be issued once restrictions on gatherings are lifted by the Governor.

Firefighter nights will be held at Fire Station #4 on Tuesday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. Location and times may be adjusted to ensure compliance with training and certification and to service equipment and vehicles as needed from time to time.
