Ouachita Artists Gallery & Studio membership drive underway

Ouachita Artists’ annual membership drive is under way! New members who join before November 3 are eligible to participate in the Holiday Display, which goes up on November 4. Art must be brought in before November 3 to be guaranteed display space. Dues paid on or after November 1 provide 14 months of membership privileges.

Ouachita Artists Gallery & Studio is located just off the courthouse square, at 135 South West Street. Drop in to pick up a membership form, email the gallery at ouachitaartistsinc@gmail.com, or call to request one by mail (870-867-3115). Talk with a volunteer about the organization and its activities, and its focus on community outreach and education. Dues are $30.00 per year, and student memberships are free. Ouachita Artists is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, completely staffed by volunteers, and all the art is handmade by local artists. Exhibiting members must live in Montgomery County or one of the surrounding counties, but supporting members are not required to be local.

Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist and don’t bring work to exhibit, you can support the arts by joining the organization. Guests and interested parties are welcome to all meetings, classes, and other activities such as the monthly make-and-take ARTrageous, Photo Club, Monday Open Studio, Demo Programs, and Library (although you must be a member to check out books), and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to support the arts in our little community.

Mail your payment and membership form to P. O. Box 1204, Mount Ida AR 71957, or drop by the gallery.
