MENA – Peyton Macejewski of Mount Ida and Jaxon Walker of Caddo Hills put up near flawless performances at the Mena Senior Relays held Thursday, March 17. Both competitors won multiple events at the meet.
Peyton Macejewski passed on the two mile event and tried her hand at the 400M dash while also running the 800M and 1600M races. She won all three events with limited time between races. Her times in the 1600M Run (5:57.77) and 400M Dash (1:04.99) were good enough to qualify her for the 1A State Meet. However, her winning time in the 800M Dash (2:48.20) was just shy of a state qualifier.
Jaxon Walker continued his domination of the throwing events with wins in the Shot Put and Discus Throw. He set a personal record in the shot put with a throw of 48 feet seven inches. He went on to win the discus throw with a throw of 150 feet.
