Governor offers lottery tickets, AGFC coupons for vaccinations

DEWAYNE HOLLOWAY/dewayne@mcnews.online
State officials are now offering incentives in an effort to entice people to take the COVID-19 vaccine. People receiving vaccines after May 26 of this year can receive either a $20 lottery ticket, or gift certificates for hunting and fishing license.
You have to receive at least one shot after May 26 to be eligible and you can only receive one incentive. The $20 lottery ticket is a scratch off ticket that gives you a chance at winning $1 million. Additional information on this scratch-off can be found at https://www.myarkansaslottery.com/games/1-million-spectacular. All age restrictions apply for scratch-off tickets.
You can also receive two $10.50 gift certificates that can be used to purchase either an Arkansas hunting or fishing license. Additional information on the hunting license can be found at https://www.agfc.com/en/resources/licensing/huntinglicenses/ and additional information on the fishing license can be found at https://www.agfc.com/en/resources/licensing/fishinglicenses/.
To claim an incentive just go by any Arkansas Health Unit and present proof of vaccination received after May 26.
Arkansas lags behind the national average in vaccination rates. State officials hope these incentives will encourage people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
