The CALL in Pike and Montgomery Counties will host their 5th annual Fall for the Call fundraiser Saturday, October 16, from 9am-4pm at the Pike County Fairgrounds held in Glenwood.
This year’s event will feature 50 vendor booths, plenty of food and live music. There will also be bounce houses for the little ones.
A virtual auction is underway on Facebook and will run through Friday, October 15, at 6 p.m. Winning bids can pick up their items Saturday during the vendor fair.
The CALL is a non-profit organization that mobilizes local churches to serve local children and youth placed in foster care. They provide a way for Christians to invite the mission field into their homes, to serve those most vulnerable in their communities.
The CALL partners with the Division of Children and Family Services to recruit, train and support foster and adoptive families for children and teens in foster care. The CALL hopes to see a day where there are no children in Arkansas waiting for families. Because what children and youth in foster care need most is a family to care for them as they heal from abuse or neglect.
Statewide there have been 2,600 homes opened to foster care through the work of The CALL. There have been 1,800 children adopted by The CALL families and 22,745 children cared for by The CALL family.
