Caddo Hills receives Outdoors grant

Caddo Hills School District have received a $1,000 grant to purchase materials and equipment for Caddo Outdoors, an environmental program currently being developed by Renita Jackson, high school science teacher.
The grant is made possible through the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, The Arkansas Rural Development Commission and the Department of Commerce Division of Rural Services.
The grant will allow for the purchase of an animal tracks/scatt identification kit, field guides for plant and animal identification, bird and squirrel feeders, a bird bath, minnow trap, tackle box, hooks, fishing line, sinkers and lures. Funds will also be used to create an animal track bed.
The materials will help expand the wildlife viewing area created by the 2020-21 Environmental Science Class. They will also provide extra materials for the Fishing in the natural State program.
Caddo Outdoors’ purpose is to educate students in Arkansas’s natural resources, promote environmental stewardship, and teach skills that can help students be successful in future high school and college science classes and careers.
