Caddo Hills extends Superintendent’s contract

The Caddo Hills School District gave Superintendent Deric Owens a vote of approval by way of a three year contract extension to serve in his current capacity.

Owens was first hired as Caddo Hills Superintendent in the Summer of 2015.

Caddo Hills Bond InitiativeUnder his tenure the district has worked to improve standardized test scores in the district. They have also completed several safety upgrades at the schools including a locked door entry system on all district buildings, and a security curtain around the elementary playground. He is currently working to educate the community regarding the benefits of approving the bond initiative the school is asking for on the March 2020 ballot. The bond initiative will provide approximately $1.8 million to fund a construction project that would expand the cafeteria and the PE GYM.

The board also approved the hire of Taylor Coffman to fill a paraprofessional position at the elementary school for the 2020 school year.

The meeting was preceded by a meal prepared by Owens to show the district’s appreciation to the Board of Directors for all their hard work. Board members include: Tammy Young, Allen Cureton, Brandon Morris, Kinzie Bour and Terry Foshee.
