CADDO HILLS – The Lady Indians claimed their second win of the season last Thursday in a 43-25 homestand victory over the Blevins Lady Hornets. The senior boys continue their unbeaten streak with a 72-49 win over Blevins and the Junior Girls earned a 39-10 victory.
The Lady Indians had their hands full from the tip off, but was able to slip out to a 15-10 lead over Blevins in the first period. Offense slowed to a crawl in the second quarter, but Caddo Hills was able to outscore the Lady Hornets 6-4 in the period.
Caddo Hills spread the points around with four different Lady Indians contributing to a 14-5 run to start the second half. They held on the fourth to claim their second win of the season.
Ashton Young led the Lady Indians with 14 points, followed by Peyton Powell with 10, Cinthia Lopez with nine and Loren Bell with eight.
The Junior Lady Indians tipped off the night with a 39-10 victory over the visiting Junior Lady Hornets.
Caddo Hills set the tone in the opening quarter by pitching a 15-0 shutout. They added four to their lead in the second thanks to a 10-6 run. They held Blevins scoreless again in the third with a 9-0 rally and ended the game with a 5-4 run to claim the 29 point win.
Abby Buttrum led the Junior Lady Indians with 14 points. Seven other Caddo Hills players contributed to the win.
Skylan Sliger scored six, followed by Natalie Jackson, Allyssa Hearns and Emma Pittman each with four points. Wraylin Wooley scored three and Jaydin Waggoner and Morgan Young each scored two.
The Indians closed out the evening with an impressive 72-49 victory over Blevins.
Caddo Hills doubled the Hornets in the first period with a 24-12 run and outscored them 22-9 in the second to take a 45-21 halftime lead.
The game tightened up in the second half with both teams scoring 16 in the third period. Blevins was able to snip two points from the Indian lead in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to avoid the loss.
Cameron Gaither led the way with 20 points. Connor KinCannon was close behind with 18 points. Tate Dumont contributed 10 to the win.
Andrew West scored eight, Rayce Young scored seven, Kaleb West scored four, JD Stockton and MJ Cureton each scored two and Matt Turner scored one.
Both of Caddo Hills scheduled opponents for this week have canceled due to COVID-19 quarantines at each respective school.
