Andrew Thompson has announced his candidacy for Montgomery County Sheriff. His announcement is printed below.
My name is Andrew Thompson and I’m proud to announce my candidacy for Sheriff of Montgomery County. I graduated from Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2003. For 9 years I was employed by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Deputy where I also became a certified Field Training Officer.
My family and I moved to Montgomery County in 2012 where I’ve continued my Law Enforcement career. During that time, I served the Glenwood Police Department as their Patrol Captain before taking a fulltime position with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. In 2015, I became a certified Arkansas Law Enforcement Instructor.
My wife, Jennifer, and I have 3 children. We are active members of our church, Community Outreach Ministries in Mt Ida. We are involved in several community centered activities. I’ve served the community in not only law enforcement but also as a licensed barber. I strive daily to put God first and improve our community by making a difference in everything I do. I look forward to continuing my service to the citizens of Montgomery County.
