LAKE OUACHITA – Team Fisher wraps up their high school fishing career in Arkansas with their fifth consecutive BASSMASTER High School Series Championship Tournament win. Team Fisher consists of Fisher Bissell and Fisher Davis, both are 2020 graduates of Mount Ida High School.
Bissell and Davis turned in a five fish limit weighing 12.60 pounds to win the tournament held on Lake Ouachita Saturday, May 30. They received a $1,000 prize for winning the tournament.
Second place went to the team of Carson Eddy and Caleb Eddy who won $500. They weighed in a five fish limit of 12.42 pounds. Third place went to William Massey and Kaleb Hall with a five fish limit weighing 12.36 pounds.
Other Mount Ida teams included: Chandler Perkins and Karter Rowton who finished 11th with five fish limit weighing 7.66 pounds; and Blake Wingfield and Ramsey Gilbert who finished 13th with five fish limit weighing 7.44 pounds.
The Junior Division Championship Tournament winners were Cole McNeeley and Britton Warren with a weight of 8.98 pounds. Blakely Thompson and Brady Daniel finished second with a weight of 3.58 pounds and Cole Martin and Kanon Goss finished third with a weight of 2.60 pounds.
Team Fisher won the season title with a total of 446 points. Perkins and Rowton finished 11th over the course of the tournament season with a total of 407 points. Wingfield and Gilbert finished 13th with 404 points. Allie Strother and Annie Strother finished 31st with 250 points.
The Bassmaster High School Series has been renamed Arkansas Young Guns High School Trail. A new schedule will be released soon.
