Susan E. VanGeertruy

Susan E. Van Geertruy, age 68 of Mount Ida, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020.

She was born on July 27, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry Holmbery and Anna-Lisa (Carlson) Holmbery.

On January 7, 1972, she was joined in marriage to William (Bill) Van Geertruy. They enjoyed 48 wonderful years together.

Sue loved to travel the U.S. She vacationed out west, in Mexico, St. Thomas, The Virgin Islands and elsewhere.

She was a very, very special lady and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She lived in Chicago, Denver and 40 years in Cataract, Wisconsin. Finally she retired in Mount Ida, Arkansas thanks to a dart.

She was preceded in death by er grandmother, mother, father and older brother, Eddy.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, three sons – William J. Van Geertruy (Ashley), Brian Van Geertruy (Fiance Kathy), Michael Van Geertruy (Alvera), and a daughter, Dawn Lynn Van Geertruy. Grandchildren – Kayden, Jazzabell, LaLa, Jackson, Machael, Julian, Laura, Samantha, Nicole, Shariel, Shatika and Kenny.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. A celebration of life wil be announced at a later date. An online guestbook is available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com.
