OARK – The Oden Timberwolves jumped out to a 15-5 lead in the first period last Friday night and cruised to a 54-34 victory over the Oark Hornets. Oark was able to claim victories in the junior boys and senior girls games.
Coby Wilburn led the Oden effort with 18 points, followed by Daniel Norman with 13. Norman hit four 3’s in the fourth quarter.
Zack Mayo scored nine, followed by Ethan Stovall with eight and Austin Stovall with two.
Coby Wilburn scored eight in the first period as Oden jumped out to a 15-5 lead. Oark was able to cut the Timberwolf lead to six by halftime with a 12-8 run in the second period.

It was all Oden in the second half with the Timberwolves outscoring the Hornets 14-10 in the third period and 17-7 in the fourth to claim the victory.
The Lady Timberwolves lost a heartbreaker as the Oark Lady Hornets held on for a 39-37 victory.
The game was a back and forth battle throughout with Oark clinging to a 17-15 lead at the half. The Lady Hornets added two to their lead in the third with an 8-6 run.
Allie Strother took the game on her shoulders in the fourth, scoring 14 points, but the Lady Timberwolves fell two points shy of the win.
Alie Strother led the Lady Timberwolves with 21 points, followed by Jacy Blansett with 11. Judy Cook scored four and Leah Murray scored two.
The night opened with a 48-22 victory for Oark in junior boys action.
Oark jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the first period and held a 23-14 lead at the half.
They outscored Oden 25-8 in the second half to secure the win.
Jay Wilburn led the Junior Timberwolves with eight points, followed by Wyatt Garmon with six and Nathanael Mayo with three. Caleb Hearne and Matt Lewis each scored two and Fredrick Metcalf scored one.
