MOUNT IDA – A love for the hustle and bustle of starting a business has led Paul Griffin to offer assistance to other entrepreneurs through his business Mount Ida Printing Company.
Paul admits that his favorite part of being an entrepreneur is the fast pace of the start up process. He found himself starting a business and then getting bored with it after settling into the day-to-day grind of running a business. After starting several businesses only to move on to the next one he discovered that is was the process that he enjoyed.
He discovered that what he really enjoyed was working with other entrepreneurs and helping them to succeed and brand their company. Mount Ida Printing Company gives him the opportunity to do what he loves over and over again.
“All the excitement for me was in that beginning stages of getting a business going.” Paul stated.

Talking out the goals and getting them set up and creating a plan. This includes all aspects of a business such as websites, printing, logos, advertising and marketing, and communication design.
While the printing company allows Paul an opportunity to help others with their business, it keeps his business exciting for him as he does what he loves over and over.
“It keeps things new.” He reflected.
By helping other small businesses get started and thrive he believes he is helping strengthen the economy and the country.
“I believe that small businesses are the back bone of the American economy.” He said.
He stated that capitalism isn’t a bad word. In fact, other countries look to the American economy as an example of a successful model. He believes that small business owners being able to create what they want while they help solve problems. In his opinion that is the American Dream.
Paul feels what he does helps fulfill the American Dream.
Mount Ida Printing Company serves a wide range of customers from doctors to service industry. He finds that entrepreneurs can fall into a rut and see themselves from within a box. What he does is provide a viewpoint from outside that box. He then tries to communicate with them about their goals. He works to help business owners stay focused on their main goals as they begin. Paul added that he realizes that there are avenues worth following away from the main goals, but he feels it is important to accomplish those original goals before pursuing them.
Mount Ida Printing Company accomplishes Paul’s goal through advertising, design and print.
Every business needs to advertise. He stated that print advertising is important especially in a small community like Montgomery County.
Design begins with branding. Paul stated that everyone likes pretty things so he works to beautify the look of a business. He shared an illustration using hiring a plumber. If you were faced with two plumber with similar skills most people are going to choose the one who looks more professional.
He also works with packaging and the way people view your product and then work on how to maximize sales through this process.
Printing is putting all the plans and design into print. Paper products are just the tip of the iceberg of what he can do at Mount Ida Printing Company. He can print anything one can imagine and can even customize the product to maximize your sales.
He also works with apparels through embroidery, screen printing and heat press. He can even source custom threaded textiles.
Large format printing includes banners, flags and signs. He can print on a variety of materials. Everything he prints utilizes the newest technology. He uses UV resistant paint that is sprayed directly onto the surface material.
He also offers traditional promotional products like cups, rulers and pens. He states that promotional products can give businesses a bigger bang for their buck by being a constant reminder to their customer of your business.
He also prints labels which includes stickers. Being able to stick things on items can also be a constant reminder to a customer.
Mount Ida Printing Company is also open to creating new products. One of his newest designs is a die cut magnet that sticks to your vehicle like a vinyl sign. The idea sprang from a customer who lived in a neighborhood that didn’t allow business labels on vehicles in the neighborhood. His custom designed magnetic sign allowed the customer to remove his signage from his work truck before returning home for the day.
He has worked with several local businesses and organization. He stated that he has currently produced new promotional material for the Heritage House Museum and has created a wrap for the rear entrance to the Ouachita Artists Gallery and Studio, as well as the Mount Ida Area Chamber of Commerce and Bob’s Food City.
He would like to encourage local business owners to come by and let him help you reevaluate their business. He welcomes competition and believes it makes him provide a better service for his customers. By working with Mount Ida Printing Company he gets the opportunity to learn about your business so he can help you better serve your customers.
