Montgomery County remains free of confirmed cases of COVID-19 according to the most recent report on the Arkansas Department of Health website.
Montgomery County has yet to receive a positive test result as the statewide cumulative total climbs to 1,226. While the number of test results within the county remains low at 18, it has increased drastically from last week’s total of seven.
Montgomery County is one of five counties in Arkansas to not have a confirmed case of COVID-19 reported. The other four include Calhoun, Fulton, Jackson and Little River Counties. A small number of tests is common among all five counties. Calhoun records the fewest tests at 11, while Montgomery County settles in next with 18, followed by Fulton County with 19. Jackson County leads the group with 26, followed closely by Little River County with 23.
Statewide there have been 18,578 tests recorded with 17,352 coming back negative. This results six percent of those tested are confirmed to have COVID-19.

There are 340 recoveries and 24 deaths in the state as of the afternoon of April 11. Nationally there are 514,415 confirmed cumulative tests. There have been 29,347 recoveries nationwide and 19,882 deaths.
Locally, all counties bordering Montgomery County have had at least one confirmed case.
Among bordering counties, Garland County has seven new cases since yesterday for a total of 72 confirmed cases. They have 986 negative cases with 20 recoveries, followed by Clark County remains steady at 27 confirmed cases. They have42 negative cases and 11 recoveries.
Hot Spring County has eight confirmed cases with 117 negative cases. Polk County has six confirmed cases with 103 negative tests results and three recoveries. Howard County also reports six confirmed cases wit 32 negative results with two recoveries.
Pike County reports the second largest number of tests with 176 total tests administered. There are two confirmed cases with 174 negative test results and one recovery. Yell County has one confirmed case with 79 negative test results.
Scott County reports the fewest tests administered among bordering counties with one confirmed case and four negative tests.
