MOUNT IDA – The Montgomery County Fairgrounds will be bursting with the best selection of plants you can find thanks to the Montgomery County Master Gardeners annual plant sale to be held this Saturday, May 7, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The plant sale moved to the fairgrounds last year which offers a comfortable indoor venue for the plant sale which makes shopping fun regardless of the weather. The sale features locally grown plants that include shrubs, bushes, house plants, bulbs, trees, herbs plants, vegetable plants, and crafts. Plenty of parking is available.
The plant sale will open promptly at 8 a.m. and you better be there early for the best selection. Shoppers are encouraged to bring a rolling cart and containers for carrying out your purchases.
Proceeds from the sale will provide funds for maintaining and improving Master Gardener projects located at the Montgomery County Nursing Home, Montgomery County Library, Montgomery County Courthouse, Montgomery County Cooperative Extension Annex, Tasty Acres and the Caddo Indian project.
Proceeds will also supply funds for two college scholarships for two graduating seniors or college students in a science or plant-related field.
The Montgomery County Master Gardeners hope everyone will help celebrate a long-awaited Spring by attending the plant sale. It’s a great place to reunite with friends and learn some interesting facts that would be helpful in your gardens.
