Graduation dates set for local seniors

All three county schools are preparing to host long awaited graduation ceremonies as businesses and venues across the state continue to reopen in the midst of an unprecedented shutdown due to COVID-19.
Caddo Hills, Mount Ida and Oden have all announced tentative dates for on site graduation ceremonies in the month of July. All dates are subject to change as state directives react to the continuing COVID-19 crisis. All social distancing protocol will be observed at all three events.
Mount Ida and Oden will host their graduation ceremonies Friday, July 10, at their respective schools.
Mount Ida will host their graduation ceremony Friday, July 10, at 7:30 p.m. at the Preston Stidman Football Field. In the event of inclement weather graduation would be held Saturday, July 11 in the gym.
Oden will host their graduation Friday, July 10, at 7 p.m. More information regarding details of the event will be released at a later date. Acorn, Oden’s sister campus in the Ouachita River School District, will host graduation Thursday, July 9, at 7 p.m.
Little Hope Baptist Church will host a Baccalaureate for Oden seniors Sunday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held on the church lawn and everyone is asked to bring a chair.
Caddo Hills’ graduation will be held Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium. A Senior Breakfast will also be held Friday, July 24, at 8:30 a.m. A graduation practice will follow the breakfast. Guidelines for the ceremony will be released as the event nears.
All dates face the possibility of rescheduling or being cancelled based upon the direction positive COVID-19 testing goes in the area.
