FOLO to host archeological overview of the Indian life in the Lake Ouachita region

The Friends Of Lake Ouachita, a public works non-profit focused on Lake Ouachita region is offering an archeological overview of the Indian life in the Lake Ouachita region.

The talk will center on the stone tools left by ancient Native Americans from 11,500 BC to farming communities of ancestral Caddo Indians AD 1000-1700.  Those interested in how these ancient residents of the region lived, their foods, their tools, the size of their communities and the interactions with neighbors will find this presentation insightful.

Dr. Mary Beth Trubitt will present this study of those who came before us.  Dr. Trubitt is an Archeologist for the Arkansas Archeological Survey and a Research Professor in the Department of Anthropology, University of Arkansas.  She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology From Northwestern University in 1996.  She currently heads the Survey’s Research Station at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia where she teaches and conducts research.
