Caddo Hills to get new seating area, trophy cases

Caddo Hills board members approved the appropriation of funds to purchase items included in the ongoing construction project during their meeting held July 12.
The board approved the purchase of furniture for the new area in the cafeteria and the foyer at a cost of $58,549.68. A plan to relocate trophies in the foyer to make room for a seating area was discussed during the June meeting. They also agreed to purchase new trophy cases at a cost of $12,350.38. Both items will be purchased with money from the building fund.
On a related note, the board voted to approve a bid to build a concrete sidewalk from the new parking lot to the elementary building at an approximate cost of $10,000. R.C. Construction will build the sidewalk.
The board voted to transfer approximately $11,000 from the building fund to the operating fund to pay off the lease on copiers used at the school. The exact amount will be determined at the time of pay off.
The board voted to purchase a new school vehicle from the state. The vehicle will be paid for from the building fund. The choices are a Chrysler van ($22,465) or a Ford Expedition ($36,998).
The board adopted resolution and disclosure statements for Brenda Cooksey, Cindy McKeller and Karman Nolen.
The board approved the use of ARP ESSER Funds.
The board approved the reactivation of the Skills USA activity account.
The board approved the 2021-22 Student Handbook.
The board approved ASBA Policy Changes to the District Policy Book.
The board accepted the resignations of Courtney Driggers (food service) and Hannah Milholen (paraprofessional).
The board voted to hire Christy Smith (food service) and Janice Driggers (praprofessional).
