Caddo Hills and Mount Ida qualify for Regional Tournaments

Caddo Hills and Mount Ida will send both their senior high teams to their respective regional tournaments this week with Caddo Hills traveling to Dierks and Mount Ida traveling to Mineral Springs.

The Caddo Hills Lady Indians enter the 2A South Regional Tournament is the catbird seat after winning the 7-2A District Tournament last week. They will tip off the regional tournament Wednesday, February 23, at 4 p.m. against the Four Seed Gurdon Lady Go-Devils. The One Seed from the 8-2A District Tournament was Fordyce. They will face Poyen at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Thursday match ups will be Lafayette County versus Horatio at 4 p.m. and Magnet Cove versus Parkers Chapel at 7 p.m.

The Caddo Hills Indians enter the regional tournament as a Four Seed and will face Junction City Wednesday, February 23, at 8:30 p.m. Dierks will face Woodlawn at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Thursday match ups are Lafayette County versus Cutter-Morning Star at 5:30 p.m. and Magnet Cove versus Fordyce at 8:30 p.m.

The Mount Ida teams will play Thursday first round games in the 1A Region 4 Tournament.

The Lady Lions will enter the tournament as a Three Seed and will face the Dermott Rams at 7 p.m. The Ouachita Warriors will face the Emerson Pirates at 4 p.m. Thursday. The Wednesday match ups include Bradley versus Blevins at 4 p.m. and Kirby versus Taylor at 7 p.m.

The Lions will enter the boys regional tournament as a Three Seed and will face Dermott at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Ouachita will play Emerson in the 5:30 p.m. game Thursday. The Wednesday games include Bradley versus Kirby at 5:30 p.m. and Mineral Springs versus Nevada at 8:30 p.m.

The opening round games are a must-win scenario with the winner earning a spot in the State Tournament and the loser going home. Semi-Finals will be played Friday, February 25. Consolation games and championship games will be played Saturday, February 26.
