Active County COVID-19 cases reaches six

The spread of COVID-19 continues to slowly grow in Montgomery County with six active cases being reported at press time Tuesday. Statewide numbers continue to grow as well with 7,167 active positive cases being reported by the Arkansas Department of Health website.
Montgomery County jumped from one active case to five last week and has remained at five until Tuesday when the number increased to six. The county reports nine recoveries for a total of 15 cumulative positive cases. There have been 747 negative test results reported in Montgomery County.
The number of cases reported in Montgomery County has more than doubled since last Tuesday when cumulative totals were at seven. This means there have been eight new cases reported in less than a week.
The statewide total cumulative positive cases sits at 33,927, up almost 5,000 from last week’s total of 28,939. The state’s active case total of 7,167 is an increase of 657 over last week’s total of 6,510.
The state reports 26,397 recoveries and 363 COVID-19 related deaths.
Neighboring counties have seen an increase in positive cases with three adjoining counties posting active case numbers over 100.
Hot Spring County is among the highest in the state with 747 active cases. They have seen a drop in active cases since last week when they were reporting 828 active cases. They are reporting 605 recoveries, two deaths and 4,491 negative test results.
Garland Counties numbers continue to grow with an increase of 96 active cases since last week. They were reporting 164 active cases Tuesday morning and a cumulative total of 499. They reported 330 recoveries, five deaths and 10,092 negative test results.
Yell County reported 135 active cases with 768 recoveries, 13 deaths and 2,978 negative test results.
Howard County reported 45 active cases with 132 recoveries, one death and 1,921 negative test results.
Clark County reported 26 active cases with 77 recoveries and 2,259 negative test results.
Polk County reported 16 active cases with 88 recoveries and 1,814 negative test results.
Scott County reported six active cases with 15 recoveries and 735 negative test results.
Pulaski County reported the most active cases in Arkansas with 897. They have reported 2,751 recoveries, 69 deaths and 48,033 negative test results.
Hot Spring County was second highest with 747 active cases, followed by Washington County with 733 active cases (4,463 recoveries, 38 deaths, 18,791 negative results).
