Cumulative COVID-19 positive case totals in Montgomery County break the 100 mark as active cases soar to 43. Total active cases have more than doubled in the last seven days.
The Arkansas Department of Health is reporting 43 active COVID-19 cases today, Tuesday, August 31 in Montgomery County. This is 23 active cases more than was reported last Monday.
Nursing Home Director Tommy Johnston reported Friday, August 28, that there were 15 confirmed cases among residents at the nursing home. A week earlier they had reported two residents who had tested positive with COVID-19, as well as nine staff members. An additional staff member later tested positive. Nursing Home officials tested every resident last week which resulted in the 13 additional cases.

There are 55 recoveries reported in Montgomery County with three COVID-19 related deaths being reported for a total of 101 cumulative cases in the county. This is an increase of 41 cumulative cases since last Monday. There are 1,259 negative test results being reported for the county as well, an increase of 116 negative results reported.
The new total lifts Montgomery County to second highest among area counties. Garland County has the highest case count at 147 active cases. They have 1,252 recoveries, 29 deaths and 21,110 negative tests.
Hot Spring County reported 39 active cases Monday with 1,658 recoveries. They have reported 20 COVID-19 related deaths and 8,384 negative test results.
Yell County is reporting 36 active cases, 1,103 recoveries, 23 deaths and 7,547 negative test results.
Howard County is reporting 35 active cases, 385 recoveries, five deaths and 3,145 negative test results.
Clark County is reporting 31 active cases with 199 recoveries, three deaths and 4,664 negative test results.
Polk County is reporting 16 active cases with 205 recoveries, three deaths and 3,109 negative test results.
Pike County is reporting 12 active cases, 163 recoveries, one death and 1,737 negative test results.
Scott County is reporting four active cases, 82 recoveries, no deaths and 1,440 negative test results.
